Black Friday For Me

After a day with the families, going shopping on Black Friday is such a wonderful relaxing pleasure. Meg and I got an easy start to the day by not meeting for coffee until 11:00 am. We picked up the morning papers and went through the ads while enjoying a brisk morning al fresco.

First we went to the mall downtown around 12:30 pm. It was crowded but not packed. The sales clerks were still chipper and the Christmas music was drowned out by the noise of the crowd. I got some some shoes and Meg got some shopping done for her kids.

On the way out the east side mall we stopped by a second hand store that is on an out-of-the-way street. Inside I got the best bargain of the day, a vintage alligator handbag that was in perfect condition. The color is a dark burgundy with gold hardware on both the flap and two buckle closures that adorn this gorgeous bag with a spacious pocket.

The east side mall in our town always is more crowded than our mall downtown so finding parking was a chore. Once inside, we got busy shopping for winter coats for our kids. The Burlington Coat Factory has good deals all year round. I also got T another p-coat. He loves his black coat and his blue coat but the blue one has gotten worn so this was an easy gift to get him. I wonder if he picked up anything for me today, hmm…
